I am a freelance photographer but a lot of what I do is just for enjoyment as a hobby. Light is a wonderful medium to work with, and I am privileged to be able to use it effectively. I hope you enjoy this sampling of my work.

My specialty and training is primarily in photojournalism and I especially enjoy technically challenging stuff like sports and performing arts. But as a biologist I really enjoy pictures of nature--wide sweeping landscapes and close-ups of plants or animals.

Most of the shots displayed here are digital, though there are some hand-printed black and white or toned images that have been scanned.
